New York – At a rally in Maine, the Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump again discussed the need for more restrictions on immigrants, even those who move to the U.S. legally.
According to the Washington Post, Trump listed examples of immigrants who followed the legal process and then proceeded to attack Americans, mentioning the following countries in his rhetoric: Syria, Yemen, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Somalia, Morocco and the Philippines.
“We’re letting people come in from terrorist nations that shouldn’t be allowed because you can’t vet them. There’s no way of vetting them. You have no idea who they are. This could be the great Trojan horse of all time,” said Trump.
This isn’t the first time Morocco is part of Donald Trump’s campaign. Last January, Politico published an article about Trump’s use of footage from Morocco in an ad about the U.S.-Mexico border. The images shown were actually from Melilla, a Spanish enclave within Moroccan borde
An oversight? Not really. In a conversation with NBC News, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said, “No sh–, it’s not the Mexican border, but that’s what our country is going to look like. This was 1,000 percent on purpose.”
